Characteristics:
Paraffin wax refined from crude oil, also called as mineral wax, is the odorless, tasteless and colorless through white crystal block-shape solid with a little transparency. It can not dissolve in water but slightly dissolve in ethanol, acetone, and dissolve in benzene, aether, carbon bisulfide, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, mineral oil, vegetable oil. Its main constituent is C22~C36 normal paraffin hydrocarbon and a little of isoalkane, naphthenic hydrocarbon and aromatic hydrocarbon. It has stable chemical property and can hardly react with alkali, inorganic acid and halogen. Different alkane number causes a series of products. The density of paraffin wax will also rise along with alkane number adds.
