Lignite wax (Montan wax) is a cheaper substitute for carnauba wax due to its good glossiness and stronger cohesive affinity. It is widely used for making printing ink of carbon paper, car wax, floor wax, furniture wax and glazing agent of shoeshine. It is also used in electric, plastic and cosmetic industry;

Constituent:
Montan wax is also called as lignite wax. Its main ingredients are cerotic acid & ceryl alcohol with C22~C32 as well as fattiness, resin & Land Asphalt. It can present excellent stability and brightness when contacts acids and other chemical solvents. It also has stronger humidity resistance and mechanical strength as well as weaker electric conductivity. The wax can solute in many organic solvents. It can combine with paraffin, stearic acid, beeswax, rosin, ozokerite, etc. to form stable composition and to increase its melting point.
